I've used these 'cut to size' on all Eerder Xplorer bikes to date and they have a beautiful classic look. You can also fit these to your Brompton G line to give it that classic silver shine. With 60 mm wide they're a great fit to the standard tires Brompton offers and others similarly wide. The Smart Sam tires which you can mount with my Extended dropout kits for Derailleur and Rohloff require them to be a little bit wider for a nice fit...

Widening the mudguards is easy and can be done by hand. However it makes the radius smaller which is problematic. So what I did back in the Xplorer days is very tricky and you might destroy your blade if you're not careful enough. Especially the shorter fron blade is tricky. I fitted a strip of hard plastic, a few mm thick inside behind the bead of the blade, did that after the widening by hand and the width should be wide enough to make a snug fit. Next I started pushing the blade back to it's original radius by just pushing on top of the blade while the ends rest on my welding table. Also pulling at two third while pushing on the new centre (at a third of it's circumference). The end rests again on my welding table, the other end is in the air.
